UNPol in East Timor Security Briefing 30 December 2006

Two international females have been robbed during yesterdays afternoon in Fatuhada and in Formosa areas. In the first case, besides the hang bag, a red motorcycle was stolen.

Later on, a group 60-70 people got involved in a large rock fighting outside Mercado Lama Police Post. This disorder behavior repeated again a few hours later. In both cases the police units and FPU had to disperse the people.

A Timorese male was arrested for numerous driving offenses in the Beach Road area.

During the night a man was injured by a dart in Comoro Market vicinity. He was taken into Dili Hospital and submitted to surgery.

We continue to remind people that they can use the 112 to report any suspect act or a crime that has happened. The police is available to help you 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This has been a daily broadcast of the UN Police in Timor-Leste, for the people of Timor-Leste.
