Introduction to UNPol in East Timor Security Briefings 2006 - 2008


26/11/2013 - This blog has been created as an archive of the United Nations Police (UNPol) Security Briefings that were published between November 2006 and June 2008. These reports were originally collected by this blog's author and compiled and archived on the East Timor Legal Information Site (ETLIS); a site that is now defunct and whose primary purpose, which was to publish legal news and information from East Timor in English has now been taken over by the East Timor Law and Justice Bulletin.

As the ETLIS will be shut down, I thought it would be a worthwhile project to save the UNPol Security Briefings from that site as an historical record of the security situation in East Timor during that period for anyone interested in researching that aspect of the country's history from that period.

I hope that this will prove to be a useful resource for researchers as well as form a small part of the historical record of East Timor for future generations to study.
