UNPol in East Timor Security Briefing 01 March 2007



This morning, a fighting between two martial art group members at Kampong Baru resulted in 5 arrests and 1 injured. Later on, disturbances were reported in Fatuhada, where a fighting and two arsons in abandon houses were attended by the police.

Yesterday, in Fatuhada, one house was set on fire. The fire spread to other five houses, and four were completly destructed. All the houses were abandoned.

In Ermera district, about 300 people gathered in support for Alfredo Reinaldo. A demonstration occured today, gathering 400 people in front of the District Administrator's office, requesting food. People dispersed after meeting the District Administrator.
