UNPol in East Timor Security Briefing 16 December 2006

In the last 24 hours, several disputes have been reported in Kampung Alor area, where two martial art groups were involved in fightings. Yesterday, during the afternoon, an explosion was reported in this area, injuring 5 people. There were also minor reports of rock throwing in the Airport roundabout and in Taibissi area. The police attended all reported incidents and reestablished the security.

UNPol alerts that it is dangerous to deal with explosive materials. You put your and others life in danger. If you find any kind of explosive device, call the police at 112 or 7230365, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

If have testified a crime or know important information regarding any event that has happened or will happen in the future contact the police. All information people may give to our investigators will be kept in secret so that they don’t suffer reprisals.
