The security situation in Timor-Leste has been calm.

Today in Dili, police responded to six incidents, including a case of domestic violence in Vila Verde. Separately, a local 30-year-old man discovered an unexploded grenade on his property in Delta 1, and handed it over to police.

Yesterday (Tuesday) evening, police managed to locate two fishermen from Atauro who were reported as having gone missing whilst travelling by boat from Dili to Atauro. After a search operation involving two helicopters and police in Liquica and Dili districts, maritime police discovered that the two fishermen had suffered engine trouble and had come ashore safely in Metinaro.

Yesterday in Dili, police arrested a total of twelve people: nine for assault, one for causing damage to property, one for rock throwing, and the final arrest was the execution of an arrest warrant.

The police advise to avoid travelling during the night to the most affected areas. Please report any suspicious activities.  You can call 112 or 7230365 to contact the police 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
