UNPol in East Timor Security Briefing 13 January 2007

Last night two fighting incidents between martial art groups in Kampumg Alor area required police intervention, with FPU supporting patrol units that initially attended the incident. No injuries reported.

This morning, the five villages involved in a reconciliation dialogue at Fatuhada, started fighting. The UNPol units who were assisting the meeting had to be supported by FPU. One UNPol car was damaged during this incident.

A fourth suspect of the murder case in Liquica has been arrested and will be presented to the judge. All the previous suspects detained were kept in pre-trial detention. In the districts there has been no security related incidents reported.
