UNPol Daily Security Briefing 21 November 2007 - This is a
broadcast of the UN Police in Timor-Leste to provide you with information about
the security situation around the country.
The security situation in Timor-Leste is generally calm,
although there have been incidents of unrest in Bebora, Dili.
Today in Dili, UNPol attended three incidents, including a
fight in Bebora where a PNTL officer was reported to have fired four warning
shots to control the situation. There were no arrests and no reports of any
injuries.
Police arrested a total of 28 people in Dili yesterday. 24
of those were arrested in relation to a rock throwing incident in Bebora
reported around 2340hrs last night.
There were no reports of any serious security incidents from
the districts.
The police advise to avoid travelling during the night to
the most affected areas. Please report any suspicious activities. You can call 112 or 7230365 to contact the
